Why this exists
Where this comes from.
My parents lost an entire fortune in a crisis when I was a child. I watched everything they had built come apart, and nothing any of us did changed the direction of it.
What stayed with me was never the money. It was the helplessness. A wave takes you, and you have no say in where it puts you down.
That is the reason for all of this. So that a family standing in front of the next one has a say in where they come down.
The background behind the framework
Michael founded Capital Fortress and wrote its Learn library. He holds a PhD in Finance and taught finance and banking at university level.
His experience spans more than 25 years in finance and investing, including more than a decade trading institutional commodities on the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He remains an active trader across multiple asset classes, and he studied the last four major crashes as they happened.
Beyond the markets, he built four businesses to seven- and eight-figure revenues. Capital Fortress is the legacy layer, the work meant to outlast them, built so that households can defend their wealth through inflation, recession, and currency debasement.
Across his career he has sold more than $500 million in physical product and traded billions of dollars on global exchanges.
None of that is here as a résumé. It is the reason the framework in SAFE looks the way it does. It was worked out in places where being wrong costs money the same day, not on paper.
He writes for investors who want a framework, not headlines, and a plan, not opinions. The work is grounded in primary data from central banks, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, FRED, and World Gold Council research, rather than in forecasts.
